Fortunately, the former came to pass, and can I just say that I love these socks! They are so pretty and comfy that I am in danger of never, ever taking them off. They were knit from Regia Nordic Color sock yarn on 2.75mm needles (in case anyone wants the details).
Also in the news: a drastic change in the UFO Count. (Well, not so much in the count as in the items involved.) I frogged the baby blanket that was going nowhere, and sort of accidentally cast on a couple of new things. Basketweave Scarf is for the Red Scarf Project, and Invisibility Shawl is another manifestation of this mad idea of mine that I'm going to knit a laceweight shawl. Oh, and I finished a pair of socks, did I mention it?
Time to get cracking on Dublin Bay #2...I've got Sock Momentum, and can't let it slip away!

So why haven't you made a knit hat like the one worn by the chick with groovy sideburns?
I have! I knit it last fall, and it goes by the name of Papa Gene's Hat. Sheesh. :)
