Can't talk. Knitting.

Well, I seem to have settled into something. This is my collection of Leftover Wool Bits...

...and over the last few days I have developed an obsession with turning them into baby hats.

There is a sock forming at the top of that picture, and I think some socks may come out of all that blue wool as well. The pink and purple will definitely combine to form a hat. I'm wondering about that ball of black wool...is a black baby hat weird? Would it be better to knit socks with that? Must ponder.

What's up with the baby hats? Well, after I made that adorable pink checkerboard one this weekend, I thought I'd look online for a worthy organization that was collecting baby hats. When I discovered that Afghans for Afghans had put out a call for baby hats, socks, and blankets for a hospital in Kabul, the Leftover Wool Bits and I decided that we definitely could not send just one hat, no matter how cute, and it was time to cast on again.

And now, back to that sock!

Black baby hat? Try a Pittsburgh Pirates or Steelers or Penguins hat and send it to a Pittsburgh NICU. I'll bet you will have a friend for life!
