See, Grace likes applesauce. She likes it a lot. And I only eat applesauce when I don't feel well, when I am in a weaker-than-usual state, and Grace...she beats me up and takes my applesauce. Every time. Here it was, 1:30 in the morning, and she stood on my stomach and purred fetchingly and jammed her little nose into my applesauce...fortunately, the Saltines had already worked their magic and I felt better, if not totally well, and was able to fend her off long enough to eat most of the applesauce myself, and I gave her the tin, which she attacked as if she hadn't eaten in days.
She looks so innocent. Don't fall for it! She'll take your applesauce!
*I don't know why I call it a tin of applesauce; it's actually a little plastic cup with a peel-off foil lid. Y'all know the type. Oh, wait, that's why I call it a tin of applesauce: for the same reason I call a paper grocery bag a towsack, and Reynold's Wrap is tinfoil (pronounced tinfole). Hello Virginia! I grew up with you!
Anyway, I feel fine now, just really tired because I missed some sleep there. I'll be needing a little nap while the kids are at school. But first, here's what I knit this weekend:
An adorable lion washcloth. That loop-stitch is addictive, so there may be more of these in my future.
I also knit up a swatch for a project which I don't intend to start yet, but whenever I'm ready I'll know which needles to pick up, because I've done the swatch. Well, I'll know which needles to pick up if this swatch measures up properly, that is. I'm really behaving myself, and even washed and blocked the swatch. Should I have woven in those ends before pinning it out? Ah well, as tired as I am, it's a good thing I didn't pin the swatch to my own foot, so I won't worry about the ends just now.
