Coming up for air

Still knitting Christmas Gift #2, still writing a bestselling novel, haven't lost control of the laundry yet (a miracle in itself - I tend to lose control of the laundry even under normal circumstances), and this morning I went to the library and checked out this book. Why? Because apparently I need to improve my rusty guitar skills. Like, now. This month. When I'm knitting Christmas Gifts and writing a novel and still doing housework and cooking dinner and making lunches at 7:45am before getting the kids off to school and later this month I will have Thanksgiving to contend with, plus I haven't saved the world yet. And I can't do that unless I can play "Penny Lane" on the guitar without missing a beat.

Dear Loved Ones: Don't worry, I'm not having some kind of episode. NaNoWriMo does this to me. It happened last year, so I recognize it; the very idea that I'm going to write a whole novel! In November! makes me think I should accomplish everything else on earth in November too. If I keep talking this fast, maybe the world will be saved by December! (Insert "Flash Gordon" song here. Queen's version, if you please. Must learn to play "Fat-Bottomed Girls" on the guitar as well.)
