The aforementioned Frankenmitts are on this list, as are the Lucky K8 Fingerless Mitts, and Charlotte A. Cavatica (most excellent scarf ever), and a thing that I saw on yesterday's episode of "Knitty Gritty." They didn't actually make it on the episode, they just had one there and talked about it for maybe eight seconds, but I tell you I fell in love. It was a mini Christmas tree knit with Fun Fur. Seriously! They had a pink one and a green one, but mine is going to be white, because I adore those white 60's-style Christmas trees. El Fuego does not love them, so I don't stand a chance of having a full-size one, but by cracky I'm going to have a cute little tabletop version! I'll have to string some blue beads for a garland, and work up some teetiny ornaments, and don't you love how people just lose their minds in the last four weeks before this holiday? I should be knitting up the last two gifties, and shopping for my kids' gifts, and just generally pulling things together, but instead I am obsessively planning to knit a little Fun Fur tree.
The One-Row Scarf is no more, however. This is embarrassing, because just a few days ago I announced that I loved it, but as of last night I didn't feel that way anymore, and had to move on. I feel like some kind of spoiled child monarch: It displeased me, so I took it apart, and the Tapestry is now becoming a Cabled Gaiter from "One Skein." (I love this book, by the way, and cannot recommend it highly enough.)
I was about to say that there's no excuse for starting a new project this close to December, but yes there is. See "spoiled child monarch." Now I must go see if I can get my inner foot-stamping princess back to work on Gifty #4!
