I need a new hobby

So here's a photo of my first venture into soapmaking.

They smell like eucalyptus and mint. They're a bit misshapen, as I had a little trouble getting them out of the mold; I think a little shmear of olive oil in the mold will take care of that. Next up: lavender! Unless I decide to grind up some oatmeal in the food processor and make a couple of oatmeal-honey bars. Why not both? Yes, I'll do both.

On the knitting front, I've just gotten to the part of Juno where I work the same two rows straight for about four feet, which means I can work without the charts for a while. Also, sometime last week I finally figured out what the lace is doing, and can I say the designer is a genius? It's brilliant! This pattern is brilliant. I'll be getting back to it as soon as I make some more soap.

Oooh, the soap looks wonderful! Bet it smells good too. Is that a handmade washcloth that those bars are lounging on?

My vote would be for the oatmeal honey bars, but I am allergy-biased against lavender, so take that for what you will.

Also: I will arm-wrestle you for CAP's copy of Encyclopedia Shatnerica. Or failing that, I will at least congratulate you on your excellent taste. ;)

Oh you don't want to arm wrestle her, even if it for such an impressive item. You know that she kits at the time....those rippling corded wrists and forearms would make Popeye look like a weakling. She'll rip your arm off and beat you with it. Good thing that lavender has a calming effect....

Now if you'll excuse me I need to go and make arrangements for getting my arms reattached.
