So I finished my first Jules sock on Thursday. I had a hell of a time getting a good picture of it, though - it kept looking all washed out. But I persevered, and here it is, looking pretty good!
I've started the second one, but haven't gotten very far yet, as I keep hearing the clarion call of lace. Juno is moving right along, and I'm working a few rounds of Pi Shawl each day, and...Lord help me...I started Seascape, from the new issue of Knitty. Isn't it gorgeous? (I'm only 8 rows into it, and I took a picture, but all you can really see is the circular needle, so I'll spare you. For now. Bwahaha!) But I do hope to finish the second sock this week - I've borrowed Season One of "Survivorman," and have been doing most of my sock-knitting while watching Les survive, and there are three episodes left, which will get me plenty of quality sock-knitting time.
Also: whoopsy, I ordered some yarn.
KnitPicks Shadow in Midnight Heather is really dark blue, almost black, and someday it's going to be the Rambling Leaves shawl. Why black? Because I think it looks more like sidewinding snakes than rambling leaves, and knit in black it would be great for Halloween. Or for clinging desperately to hipness as I age. Whatevs! Either way, it's a great-looking shawl.
KnitPicks Gloss Laceweight in Sterling is a lovely silvery grey, perfect for the Invisibility Shawl from Charmed Knits. Y'all may remember last summer's failed attempt at Invisibility, but I like to think I've gotten better at this lace business, and also I've learned to count, so there shouldn't be quite so many mistakes. Hey! Now that I think of it, the Rambling Leaves/Sidewinding Snakes shawl has kind of a Harry Potter vibe to it, too, what with Harry being a Parseltongue and all.
The pink one is KnitPicks Alpaca Cloud in Raspberry Heather, which will become a lacy scarf for Miss Dashwood's birthday, which is not for several more months, so I have time. I can't start it till she goes back to school anyway!

I hope Rambling Leaves is better written than the Inanna Cape I tried to do from that site. Errors all over the place, stitch counts that didn't match up, and in the end I just frogged it out of sheer frustration... for the second or third time. I know it's a free pattern, but you'd think they'd put more effort into making sure it makes sense.
Ah well.
I ought to knit myself an Invisibility Shawl too. I bought Charmed Knits ages ago, but all I've knit from it have been two scarves.
