How'd the knitting go? Well. By the time I went to bed last night, I'd done the garter-stitch border (that's 8 rows) and six rows of the first repeat. Each repeat is 20 rows. Umm...slow and steady wins the race? Yeah, that's the ticket!
This morning I finished the first pattern repeat, and then formulated a plan: I'm going to do at least two pattern repeats per day. I'm going for 30 pattern reps, which takes me to the day before the Olympics end, if my math is correct, and gives me plenty of time to knit the garter-stitch border for the other end and cast off before the Olympic flame goes out.
This, of course, assumes that I have enough yarn for 30 pattern reps. I don't really know whether I do, but if I don't, then the plan is to knit till I run out of yarn, and hey! Less than 30 pattern reps means I finish way before the flame goes out, if I stick with 2 reps per day! This half-baked plan of mine just might work!
Okay, here's a picture of Dainty Bess as she stands right now...the picture does no justice at all to the color of the yarn, but it does show off the pattern quite nicely.
We're going to the library now, but I swear I'm not checking anything out. Really!
