Will someone please give me a swift kick, and remind me that I must finish up Miss Dashwood's socks before her feet grow again. (She's outgrown two pairs of sneakers this year, and is starting to complain about the third.) I'm making the socks just a smidgen bigger than they need to be for the time being, but still. I'm going to finish this second sock today. I really am!
So. Last November, during the exhilarating lunacy that is NaNoWriMo, there was some mention of the Reading-in-Bed Shrug. I wisely decided that I didn't need to knit it right then, but that it would be knit at some point.
Apparently that point is now. Apparently I need a lacy shrug before I start writing my new novel, which involves a love affair, a plane crash, and a convention in San Diego, not necessarily in that order. I started it* yesterday, with the alpaca/silk blend I bought on vacation in June. Pictures next time! Because it doesn't look like much of anything yet. And I'll have photos of a nice new super-bright pair of socks to share as well!
(*the shrug, not the novel. Can't start the novel yet. But brace yourselves: November draws nigh!)
