So I did. And the whole way to the store, and while walking around the store, and the whole way back from the store, I kept thinking how uncomfortable these store-bought socks were. I have exactly four pairs of store-bought socks, and this was the first time in months that I had bothered with them - I wear them for yardwork, because I don't want to mess up my nice handknit socks with garden mud or grass clippings or whatever - and I was surprised by how much I really, really don't like them. It probably shouldn't have been such a revelation, that handknit socks are in every way superior to store-bought socks, but it was, and I've been contemplating all the people in my life who are going to need more handknit socks now.
El Fuego, you're first. I'm serious! I know your shoe size and I know where you live, and you've been refusing handknit socks for too long. Don't worry, they'll be all handsome and businesslike, and you can wear them to meetings and be distracted by how comfy your feet are.
While mentally compiling my list of sock victi - er, recipients, I finished up Nadezhda. Gorgeous!
This is the Blowsey Ruffles scarf pattern, knit with Taiga Yarns Countryside on 5mm needles. I absolutely love it. I may need a scarf pin to go with it, or I may just be thinking that because the picture with the pattern has a scarf pin in it...no. I definitely need a scarf pin. Maybe I can make one! To the craft store!
