Yarn over. Slip two together as if to knit. Knit one. Pass two slipped stitches over. Yarn over.
If you're going to knit a Seascape, you'll be doing that a lot. It's fun, though. No objections here. I had been thinking of that particular sequence of events as "the double-decrease thingy," but last night I realized there's no dignity in that phrase. Double-decrease thingy?! No, that's no good at all. I immediately named it the Kieran, in honor of Seascape's designer. I mutter to myself a lot while knitting lace, and the new name neatens up my muttering considerably: "Knit one, Kieran, knit three, make one right, knit two, Kieran, slip-slip-knit..."
(I'm not looking at the pattern, by the way. That was totally off-the-cuff muttering. If you're going to knit a Seascape, please consult the pattern, and not this post. You'll be glad you did.)
So I've been working on Seascape a lot lately.
It's bigger than this now. And, you know, more attractive. Unblocked lace doesn't photograph well. I'm enjoying knitting this so much, I haven't even cast on a new sock! I thought about it, but...I couldn't find a sock pattern I really, really want to knit right now. I know, shocking. I'll probably find one soon, though - it's always good to have a sock in progress, for times when I need to work on something that doesn't require this level of concentration (or muttering).
