Boldly go

I saw Star Trek last night, and do I even need to say it was awesome? So many people have already said it's awesome. I'm just adding my voice to the choir. Absolutely amazing, it is. Drop everything and go see it!

I was a bit of a latecomer to the Star Trek party - I became a fan in the early 90's when a friend in college got me watching ST: The Next Generation. TNG led to Deep Space 9, and Voyager, and Enterprise with its cheezy theme song, and of course I've gone backwards and watched some of the original series, which is harder to find than it should be. (I still haven't seen the episode where Spock is a hippie. Someone point me in the right direction, please!) It was a lot of fun, watching the movie last night, to see the original characters all coming together one by one.

But TNG is still closest to my heart, so as soon as I found out there was a pattern for a hat called "Guinan," I had to knit it. (The pattern appears to be available only on Ravelry. Ravelers, you know what to do!)

I finished this up yesterday, before I went to the movie; it's Noro Silk Garden on 4mm needles, and I love it.

It looks more like Guinan's hat on Mr. Goomba than it does on me, but that's okay.
