Clapotis is about half done, and the baby afghan is mostly done but probably not going to be finished in time for this A4A campaign but I shall persevere nonetheless and have it done for the next campaign. (That sentence could probably use more than one comma. But I shall persevere and leave it the way it is.)
Meanwhile, I keep thinking about my Tea Corner.

It's this raised triangular bit of kitchen counter where I keep my various tea accoutrements. That's my grandmother's butter dish holding some teabags, and my broken Bicentennial mug holding some honey sticks. The whole arrangement is very pretty, but the shelf is really hard to clean. I was dusting it today, just about dislocating my shoulder trying to reach the back of the corner, and I thought, "There has got to be a better way to do this."
So I finished cleaning and grabbed a tape measure, measured around all the edges of the shelf, actually wrote down the numbers (you'd be surprised how often I forget that part) (or maybe you wouldn't), and decided to sew up a fabric lining for my Tea Corner. Then, when the corner gets dusty, I just take the lining outside and give it a good shake. Cleaning done! No dislocated shoulder necessary!
I haven't made this lining yet; I haven't even opened my fabric bin yet. I'm still at the point in this project where I'm dreaming about how adorable it's going to be, and how I'm going to knit a lacy edging for the fabric, etc. Oh, and also? Those teapots are going to need cozies.
