The Post-Christmas Cast-on

Or, maybe I'll start next year the way I started this one: with a pair of Fred and George socks. I don't see myself finishing those socks before the New Year, although I did hold out hope for a couple of days.

But I got yarn in my Christmas stocking.


And now I'm knitting a Luxe Neck Warmer from Knit 2 Together, a wonderful book that I got two Christmases ago and haven't knit nearly enough out of yet, considering I love almost everything in it. This is Plymouth Boku, and I love these colors, which are working beautifully with the pattern, and sometimes I need to take a break from the socks and work with some nice worsted weight.


Not that I have anything against socks. I got some sock yarn for Christmas, too! (Miss Dashwood immediately tried to claim the purple yarn for her own. She knows the answer to "Can I have some socks?" is always "yes." But I may have to slip some other purple sock yarn in on her, because at the risk of sounding greedy, this stuff is mine!)
