This is - have I said? - exactly what I had in mind when I started these socks. El Fuego gave me this lovely yarn for Valentine's Day, and as soon as I took it out of its cute little gift bag, it told me that it really really wanted to be anklets. You know, it was right. I absolutely love these.
The yarn is Aslan Trends Santa Fe, a smooth merino/nylon blend that knits up beautifully, in color #1320. It's a yarn that I had never seen or heard of before February 14, but El Fuego found it at the local yarn shop, and am I glad he did - it's really nice. (Thanks, hon!) It's just a little thicker than most sock yarn, so I knit these on 3mm needles over 56 stitches on the leg and then 60 on the foot. The leg is four and a half inches of 4x4 rib (that was a bit of a chore to knit, I admit, but I love the way it turned out), and then it's a heel flap/gusset and stocking stitch foot in the usual manner.
What's left for the June portion of The Plan? One sock...most of a laceweight scarf...eleven days. It doesn't look good, especially as I've been looking out the corner of my eye at some wool that's calling out to be a hat, but hope springs eternal.
