Very Useful Cloths

Just yesterday I found out about this: people are knitting, crocheting, sewing, and otherwise fashioning cloths to help clean the animals being rescued from the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

I stitched up three new cloths, and pulled a bunch of cloths that I knit last fall out of the closet. These are going to Project 8, along with a bottle of Dawn dishwashing liquid and some cut-up pieces of old t-shirts. It's so good to feel like I can do something useful, instead of just sitting here crying every time pictures of oil-covered pelicans turn up on the news. (I keep shouting at the TV, "Stop taking their picture and do something!" But surely making cloths for the people who actually know how to help these poor animals is more useful than shouting at the TV. Not that I'll stop.)

Next time: the scintillating details of my annual summertime plan. It involves lace and socks, just as it did year before last. (I think last year it just involved lace. I finished Juno and started Abracapocus. Holy cats, was that a year ago already?!)
