Stranded knitting

I've been practicing my stranded knitting lately. (Thinking About Acorns was part of that, though I didn't mention it. I actually ripped back twice because the floats on the inside of the hat were pulled too tight.) I got this gorgeous hat kit for Christmas, and I want to make sure I'm halfway decent at stranded knitting before I break into it and get started.

So over the weekend I knitted this slightly mismatched pair of Wonder Woman cuffs.

Not bad! The floats are just right. I seem to know what I'm doing. Those birds have a vaguely evil look about them, but that's all right. Maybe they'll be happier after I weave in the ends. Next up: a pair of stranded mittens, and then I'll feel confident enough to get on with the hats, I think.

Speaking of hats, I finished the Pinstripe Slouch Hat. It's meant to be reversible - you can wear it with either side facing out, and good thing, too.

Because for the life of me, I can't decide which side I like better.

This was knit on 3.5mm needles, with about half a skein of KnitPicks Stroll Hand-Painted yarn in the Tiger colorway. My high school's mascot was a tiger, so I'm calling the hat Tiger Country, whichever way I wear it!
