That's not gone well.
I put up my "Bothered" sign by way of warning, did some yelling, and stomped off to Trader Joe's for a while (I'm sure everyone was relieved). Fortunately, I got a good night's sleep, and the next day there was French toast for breakfast and a basket with chocolate in it, so I felt much better.
Once the dishcloths were well and truly out of my system (Kitchenering one will do that for you every time), I got back to the sock knitting.
These are Spey Valley from Nancy Bush's Knitting on the Road, finished up yesterday and just as good-looking as all getout. Knitpicks Essential in Agate Heather, 2.75mm needles. If they look familiar, it's because I knit a pair for my brother three and a half years ago. And honestly, I've been thinking about knitting another pair ever since - finally got around to it!
(This is still the only pattern I've knit from that book, which I've owned for seven or eight years. I look through it all the time, though. I really ought to give the other patterns a go one of these days.)
The announcement has already been made: my May projects will be the kids' socks, with the yarn they chose while we were on vacation last month. But I'm spending the last few days of April working on a pair of stripey fingerless mitts for myself. Picture soon!
