It's knit in the round as a long, long tube, so it will be a double thickness of wool when it's done. The sad thing is, I probably won't get to wear it until the end of this year ... we had a pitifully warm winter, and next week our temps are supposed to be in the 60's and 70's, so woolly-knits season is pretty decidedly over. But I'm going to wear it once after I finish it anyway, because I love it, and also for sheer stubbornness.
I knit a bumblebee to keep my coffee mug warm.
This is Bees & Honey, from Stitch London, which also features the pattern for the preceding scarf. In fact, I used the yellow and black yarn from the scarf to knit the bumblebee - it's Knitpicks Wool of the Andes in Semolina and Coal. So cute and cheerful!
And finally, a pair of socks.
These are my Mockery Socks, finished this afternoon, and man, do I love this color. And the swirly pattern. A great pair of socks all around, really. The yarn is Cascade Heritage Handpainted Sock Yarn, color #9825. I've knit with Heritage before - my Hermione socks - and it's really lovely to work with, which makes me very glad that I have at least three more hanks of the stuff in my stash. The needles were 2.75mm double points, to no one's surprise.
Honestly, I feel a bit of a sock obsession coming on. (You're all warned.) I sat down with a notebook and pen the other night and wrote up a list, entitled "I Don't Have Any Socks," of sock patterns I want to knit and the yarns from my stash that would suit them. I already know which ones I'm going to cast on next, so stay tuned.
