And a handsome pair they are, too. The pattern is Rudy Got Sole - except that I did a knit-four-purl-four pattern (rather than the prescribed knit-five-purl-five) so I could do it over 64 stitches. The yarn is Knitpicks Stroll in Forest Heather, and the kid loves them.
Lots of fun to knit, too, once I came to my senses - that checkerboard pattern is fairly addictive.
I've already cast on another pair of socks, and they're also for Horatio. The lad has been asking for a pair of maroon socks for some time, but it took us a while to find exactly the shade he wanted. The other night, before I cast them on, I had an idea about these socks and ran it past Horatio.
Me: I have a sock pattern called Take Five. So, what if I knit your maroon socks with Take Five, and they could be your Maroon 5 socks?
Miss Dashwood, Adam Levine's biggest fan: DO IT! DO IT!!
Horatio: I'll do it if you both promise not to sing at me all the time.

So here it is, the beginning of the first Maroon 5 sock. The yarn is Austermann Royal, which I've never worked with before and am already cursing myself for not buying some to knit myself a pair of socks, it's so nice. I have managed so far not to sing at anyone, but "Sunday Morning" is well stuck in my head.

And here's a little something Miss D and I made while I was avoiding my knitting last week. Mmm, Easter cake! (It's long gone, but it was so pretty I took its picture.)
