Catching up. Prepare to follow many links!

So, our modem crashed and we spent a week without internet or phone - #firstworldproblems, my son would say, and he's right, but it was MUCH easier to get on without the internet than without the phone. Easier, and more productive. What with not checking my email four times a day and not getting sucked into the endless, addictive world of Sporcle quizzes, I got a lot of knitting done. The first few finished objects are ones that my mom asked me to knit, and she has given me permission to show them off on the blog, so I shall!

Here is A Grey Loop, knit on a 6mm circular needle with Knitpicks Gloss DK in the Robot colorway. It's the same color as my carpet, so this picture has turned out remarkably well. And the grey loop? Gorgeous. I finished knitting it, called my mother, and said, "I'm going to need one of these for myself."

One of these hats will go with the Grey Loop, but we haven't decided which yet. They're both very good-looking, so I'm sure the runner-up will find a good home. The one on the left is Arrow, also in Gloss DK/Robot but on a 5mm needle, and the one on the right is a variation on Etta; I used chunkier yarn than was called for, so I only did two repeats of the lace pattern and changed the crown decreases just a bit. Etta was knit on 5.5mm needles with Knitpicks Gloss Aran in Robot. (I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed saying "Robot Yarn" the last couple of weeks.) (My family can, though.)

This is Graham, knit on 5mm needles with Knitpicks Full Circle in Denim. I really like this hat; kind of a classic watchcap, very handsome, and definitely warm. The wind is not going to cut through this baby. There will be a cowl to go with Graham as well; stay tuned.

Finally, I am about halfway through Afternoon Tea. The yarn is Knitted to a T Merino Nylon SW in Sapphire, and I love it. It's soft and lovely and squishy, not a bit splitty, and this color, seriously. I bought this yarn at Wool Gathering two years ago, with the intention of knitting a pair of TARDIS socks, but about a week ago I suddenly decided I'd rather wear this delicious blue around my shoulders than on my feet. Not that there's anything wrong with wearing yarn on my feet. I do it all the time. In fact, my Vanilla Latte socks should be finished soon; I'll be back with a picture of them, and a nice picture of yarn I bought at this year's Wool Gathering.

I love it all! Afternoon tea is so blue. Makes me wish we could share afternoon tea.

And looking at these pictures I am instantly drawn to Etta!

Good job!
