I've been draping it around my head and neck every time I leave the house for the last two weeks, and it is so pretty and comfortable and warm. I didn't expect it to offer a lot of wind protection, because it was knit on such big needles and has a light and airy look about it, but I'm pleasantly surprised at how well it keeps the wind out of my ears. (I am a delicate flower, you see, and I get an earache if I don't protect my ears from the cold wind.) My friend Norwegian Wood will probably not see the inside of a closet again until April, and the rest of my scarves are jealous; I'll have to go reassure them later.
And now: Horatio's new stuffed elephant!
His name is Manphy (a Pokemon reference, I'm told). The pattern is from Mr. Funky's Super Crochet Wonderful, of course, and the yarn is Patons Classic Merino, except for his little man-purse, which is Wool-Ease. (I just this second discovered that Mr. Funky has his own website - the link above connects to it - must investigate further!)
I shall leave you today with the cheerfullest thing I have ever seen on the Internet. Give it a minute if it looks like it's stuck; it'll get moving, and you'll hum "The Spanish Flea" for the rest of the day!

So when will grampa Sid be here?
Y'all don't worry, that's just El Fuego leaving crazy messages based on the local stuffed-animal wildlife. :)
And the answer is: soon.
Cheerful it is! But, is it also never-ending? It took me a while to realize that, I was enjoying the tune so . . . . now i must go unearth all my Herb Alpert vinyl!
No no - not El Fuego.
I will now do the Angry Dance.
Doot Doot Woo! Doot Doot Woo!
My ears also get terribly painful when they're cold. The pain spreads and gives me a nasty headache sometimes, too. If I don't have a hat with me in the winter, I'll often just wrap my scarf around my ears and forehead and well as my neck, and then I'm comfy and warm!
That is very cheerful - had my kids mesmerised :)
And that little elephant is so cute it almost makes me want to take up crochet *chuckle*
