Aunt Betty would have loved this.

I've finished my first project from the Mason-Dixon Ladies' new book: the Hanging Dishtowel.

I know just the kitchen for it, too. Heads up, Ma!

Aunt Betty was the dishcloth-knitter of the family - and so much more, of course, but she was definitely the one you could count on to mail you the occasional dishcloth. Or to hand you a couple when you came to visit. ("Do you need a dishcloth, kid? Here, take these. I don't know why I knit so many of them." That makes me smile, now that I'm the dishcloth-knitter. She knew why she knit so many of them, and so do I.)

Ecru and sage green would have looked great in her kitchen!
