Fourth of July Q&A!

Happy Fourth, y'all! And now, some questions. Don't ask where they came from. No, really.

Q. Dear Crusty Peach, have you been working on that Jaywalker? Or what?
A. Why yes. Yes I have. It's not exactly zipping along, but a few rounds are magically appearing every day.

Q. Dear Crifty Crafty, have you visited any yarn stores during your stay in Scenic Virginia?
A. Are you kidding? Yes. On Monday we went to Coordinated Colors, which is just my kind of yarn shop: packed to the gills with every kind of yarn you could possibly want, plus a bunch you didn't know you wanted till you saw it there. A lovely cheerful place with a friendly proprietor who knows his yarn well, and I may even have to go back before we leave!

Then, on Tuesday, we were wandering the riverfront in Yorktown, and I was drawn toward a big old-fashioned sign that said "Colonial Fiber Arts." Dad and El Fuego found a bench in the shade while I invaded, followed by Ma and the kids. It's quite small, but what they have is very high-quality and very reasonably priced. They have weaving looms and spinning wheels as well as knitting supplies, and I believe I saw a sign advertising lessons for all sorts of fiber-oriented skills. (I just bought some yarn.)

Q. Dear Peachy Craft, whatever became of that Pokemon you crocheted?
A. You mean Munchlax? He was lovingly carried by the USPS to Beth's little guy Tom, who spent a few days in hospital. He's doing well, he's home now and looking pretty chipper. And cute!

Q. Dear Pin Head, what are you doing for the holiday?
A. Well, Dad is taking the kids fishing, and then there will be bowling, and grilling of both meat and vegetables. I don't think any decisions have been made yet about dessert, but surely we'll work something out.
