(Dear Pinky: That is not a hint. Take your time! If you're hanging out with your family, tell them Goober sez hey!)
12/29 ETA: Hey, I heard from Pinky! Here are her Fawkes socks. (Socktopia.net isn't working this morning, so I'll have to link to the pattern another time)
Gifty #2: Socks for my dad, from a pattern I made up as I went along...
Gifty #3: "Fetching" fingerless gloves for my mom...
Gifty #4: Socks for my brother (a variation on the Spey Valley Socks from "Knitting on the Road")...
Gifty #5: Socks for my sister-in-law (a variation on Synesthesia Socks).
The report from home is that everyone loves their gifts. Hurray!
So what am I up to now? Well, chaos reigns once again. I'm crocheting a basket, which right now is dead boring, even to me, but it'll be terrific when it's done, so I'll show it off then. I started a lace scarf yesterday, because I darn well felt like it. The Cabled Gaiter is very nearly done - another five rounds or so and it'll be off the UFO Count. And my cross-stitch project is still a going concern, though I didn't work on it at all yesterday.
The basket is actually more of a bucket, and was born of the sudden realization that my living room is a disaster area. Because we are Video Gamers, there are all kinds of little accessories and game paks and things lying around, and they should have a Place To Belong so they can all be put away at the end of the day, but...they don't. Enter the Crocheted Bucket-Basket. I may have to make more than one, but one is a good start!

Pinky here: I LOVE my Fawkes! (Gifty #1 for you blog readers) That's right! I got socks! But they're not socks! They're Fawkes! : ) They are beeeuuuutiful phoenix-inspired socks! I couldn't love them any more if I tried (and I did try for a few hours on Monday) and they fit perfectly, too!!! Thanks for picking up on my not-so-subtle hint for hand-knitted socks! I love them. And the bag. And the cookies. Yummmmmmmm. XOXO - Me
