Dainty Bess is finished. Pure Ravelympics gold, baby!
Mr. Goomba will model it for us when it's dry, and I'll save the Pertinent Details till then. In the meantime, just look at those diamonds. Ooh, and that purple. I love it!
Here's the leftover bit of yarn: just the size of an American half-dollar. (Remember half-dollars? My kids don't. It's sad.) If you're not familiar with obsolete American currency, then my ball of yarn is slightly larger than a tooney (twoney?) or a 2-pound coin.
If you're not familiar with Canadian or British currency, either, I'm afraid I can't help, because these are the only three countries I've been to. I wonder why we can't get a dollar coin to catch on here in the States? A couple of attempts have been made, but people get all excited and collect them instead of spending them, so they never really make it into circulation, and when you try to spend them, the cashier has no idea what they are and says you can't spend that here. I quite like the idea of a dollar coin, but I guess we as a people are attached to our paper dollars. Oh well, I like the paper dollars too; it's fun to draw a word-balloon saying "Martha, I'm home!" next to George's head. Can't do that with a coin!
