Full Disclosure

So, there's this sock I started on October 22 and never mentioned. Shield your eyes!

It was my Travelling Sock, for when I was volunteering at school or standing in line somewhere, but last night it called to me for some reason, and I knit on it a whole bunch. I'm about halfway through the heel flap now. The yarn is Opal Neon, and I'm calling them the Jellybean socks.

And then there's this lovely hat. Miss Dashwood saw the pattern a few nights ago on Ravelry and asked me to knit her one...so I did.

It's the Lace Edged Women's Hat, knit on 4mm needles with Knit Picks Merino Style in Cornflower. It has kind of a 1920's style about it, and it looks adorable on her. And I had to whip out this hat right quick, so that I would be free to make the following announcement:

I am not casting on anything else for the rest of the year.

It's okay to laugh. I have a bit of a nervous giggle myself every time I say it. But I mean it. I've got enough things in progress right now, and a growing list of Stuff I Want to Knit Next Year, and I'm going to spend December finishing up a few projects. Or at least working on stuff I've already started.

And now, what we've all been waiting for: a final report on NaNoWriMo!

Final word count: 50,420
Lyrics to "American Pie": Not included.
How about "The Walrus & the Carpenter": Also not included.
What about a dream sequence wherein the female main character was kidnapped by pirates and rescued singlehandedly by the male main character: Uh. Are you going to make me answer that?
Yes: Erm. Yes. Something like that may have happened.
Desperate much?: Hey, it got me 800 words.
Oh, all right: Thanks for understanding.
Was there any mention of the 1985 music video "Take on Me," by a-ha?: Where are you getting these questions? Begone, Inner Editor. I'll take out all a-ha references when I'm darn good and ready.
