Mayhem

Daniel Striped Tiger, the moss-stitch scarf - Dan for short - is moving right along, and I should be finished with it tonight or tomorrow. In the meantime, I bring you a report of mayhem and tomfoolery.

About 8:00 this morning, Hazel leaped to the top of a bookcase and, in skidding across the smooth surface, cleared it of every blessed thing that was up there. This included:

-> the telephone
-> a cute little knitting shadowbox I put together about five years ago
-> a failed laceweight swatch which I now use as a doily, if doilies can be rectangular, and I say they can, so there
-> a picture of my brother and sister-in-law and my kids
-> a picture of Chet, my first cat
-> Juno Regina

The shadowbox needs to be put back together, but everything else is fine, now that I've fixed Juno. Five stitches were knocked off the end of the needle in all the foolishness, and three of them dropped several rows, and I just couldn't figure out how to wrangle them properly back onto the needle. I had to rip back about half an inch and re-knit. This means two bits of good news for Juno: 1) it's survived its first Cat-Related Incident, and 2) it's not hibernating anymore. I worked on it for a good half-hour this morning, and that means it's back in progress, baby!

I hope it understands that I'll still be finishing Dan first.
