It's a pretty good hat, though. Just your basic stocking-stitch-in-the-round, made with the leftover yarn from Miss Dashwood's mittens. Given the bright pink of the mittens, that stripe of yellowy-orange in the hat was a bit of a surprise, but it looks good.
There's a vaguely neurotic list in a notebook by my desk of all the crafty things I want to get done in May. The kids' socks, a couple of small cross-stitch projects, the finishing of a couple of other small cross-stitch projects - the actual cross-stitch is finished, but one piece needs to be framed, and the other needs to be sewn up into a zippered pencil case. (I should get cracking on that one, I suppose - properly installing a zipper could take me the rest of the month!)
This hat was not on that vaguely neurotic list, but I feel better about having gotten those leftover balls of wool off the countertop next to the toaster.
