And here is Matilda modeled by the knitter. (Miss Dashwood took the picture; she'll be thrilled that I left Miz Ladybug in when I cropped it!)

Matilda was knit on 4mm needles, with two lovely skeins of Blackberry Ridge Silk Blend Laceweight in Dark Lilac. Wingspan is 60 inches, depth is 28 inches, it is absolutely beautiful all around and I love it. I loved knitting it, too, and don't let the fact that it went into hibernation a couple of times fool you. That was just me being easily distracted by shiny things, and socks.
The yarn was given to me by Beth about three years ago. Beth - thanks for the gorgeous new shawl!
Most of my time lately has been spent knitting a Fibonacci scarf and writing a novel in which a plump, fortyish woman from Ohio has a midlife crisis. It is not at all based in reality. More on the scarf soon!
