How I spent my extra hour

Well, as properly dramatic as that sounds...Miss Dashwood and I actually spent our extra hour watching "Mr. Men," because our bodies betrayed us and we woke up at our usual time, which of course was an hour earlier than usual. El Fuego and Horatio spent their extra hour sleeping, which is what the fall time-change is all about, as far as I'm concerned. But we love "Mr. Men," so that was okay too. (Yes, I mean those Mr. Men. You never outgrow them! It's true.)

I did get a lot done this weekend, though. I knit a hat for my friend C - first Christmas present done!

This is an Owl Hat, knit in violet Wool-Ease on 5mm needles. Check out those little guys! I love the way this turned out, and I plan to knit one in blue for C's daughter. I've chosen another pattern, the Catawampus Cap, for her husband and son. Now it just needs to get cold enough in South Carolina for them to wear hats...

I also sailed right past 4,000 words for NaNoWriMo. Woohoo!

Okay, I didn't write them in that notebook. I'm just jotting down notes to keep myself on track in that notebook. But it sure is cute!

Fellow Americans, make sure you vote tomorrow. Make your voice heard! If you don't vote, you may end up having this conversation:

"Hey, my candidate didn't win! What a ripoff!"
"Did you vote?"

"No."

"Shut up."

So get out there and help your candidate, even if it's not my candidate. The important thing is to take part in the process. Yes, we can vote for the candidate we believe in, and hope he'll win, and nothing can change that.
