This weekend's project

I finished Miss Dashwood's first Fawkes sock yesterday.

Haven't cast on the second one yet, but have been thinking that I need a pair of these for myself. (Was bound to decide that eventually.) Oh no, have stopped using pronouns. On to this weekend's project!

My scarves were all over the place; I haven't been hanging them up when I'm done with them. This has been going on since late September, and I finally decided I really needed to gather them up, block the ones that could do with a good blocking, and hang them up nicely. And also, I should hang them up nicely after each use. (It took me 38 years to come to this conclusion. Scary!)

So, three of them are blocking right now.

From left to right, that's Nadezhda, the Besotted Scarf, and Daniel Striped Tiger. I knit the Besotted Scarf (pattern here) in 2005; it was my first major cabling project, and I was thrilled with how it turned out. I still am. I tend to wear it in February, when winter is starting to drag a bit and everything's all grey and sloppy and a hot-pink scarf is in order. None of these scarves had ever been blocked, sad to say...if it's not lace, I usually just cast off and toss it straight around my neck. But they all looked like they might perk up a bit with some blocking, and they really did - particularly Dan. There are seven more that need blocking; further bulletins as events warrant.

From this angle they look like a Sesame Street sketch. "Long! Longer! Longest!" And then Grover sings a little song about it.
